Built in 1983, the combination office, storage, warehouse property has a current assessed value of $1 million. Cook's Mobile Self Storage, a subsidiary of Cook's Moving Service, is leasing the property from its parent company for an undisclosed figure.

The Self Storage subsidiary provides full-service moving and storage, as well as "do it yourself" mobile storage containers. "Because of our location in Hampton Roads, 90% of our business is through the military," Cook's Moving Service president Harrell. W. Cook explains. "This product eliminates the need for truck rentals and allows people a low-cost alternative for moving and storage."

The Hampton Roads area is home to a bevy of military bases including US Army Transportation Center and Fort Eustis, Langley Air Force Base, and US Marine Corps Forces Atlantic. Advantis/GVA represented Cook's, while Thalheimer Inc. stood in for the buyer.
