Rising on Othello Avenue, the Sunbelt facility will encompass 7,000 sf and two stories at build-out. Design plans call for exposed roof structures; cast-in-place concrete walls; polished concrete floors; and extensive use of glass, including floor-to-ceiling glass walls and interior glass partitions. Dual-glazed windows with built-in shading devices will also be incorporated into the project, as a way of increasing energy efficiency. Completion of the $2.5-million office building is slated for December 2003.
KMA Architecture & Engineering is serving as architect for the project and is also responsible for the facility's mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering. Burkett & Wong is providing the structural engineering services, while Latitude 33 is serving as the civil engineer. The landscape architect is MLA, and the general contractor is Matt Construction.
