GlobeSt.com Names Veteran Newswoman Northeast Bureau Chief

NEW YORK CITY-Barbara Jarvie, with more than a decade of news reporting and management experience--and multiple journalism awards--under her belt, joins GlobeSt.com to head Northeast news region.

NEW YORK CITY-GlobeSt.com has named award-winning journalist Barbara Jarvie as Northeast Bureau Chief.

Jarvie comes to her new post from News12.com, a Long Island based news website. At that post, where she headed up a 10-person news department, Jarvie garnered an Edward R. Murrow award for best news site. In a career that spans more than a decade of local news coverage, Jarvie has worked for the Nassau Community Newspaper Group and, before that, at the Massapequa (Long Island) Post.

In that time, she has also been the recipient of numerous New York Press Association awards for her work. She has also been a frequent panelist on various local news and community affairs programs and is a frequent guest speaker at various community meetings and luncheons.
