LONDON-Cendant has exported its Days Hotel brand to the UK, with the opening of a 100-room hotel close to junction 40 of the M1 motorway at Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The hotel–which cost £4.1 million ($6.5 million) to build–is owned and operated by Kew Green Hotels under a franchise agreement with Cendant Europe.

The Days Hotel Wakefield is the first of seven Days Hotel properties currently under development with Kew Green and other partners in the United Kingdom. Properties in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and South Ruislip, Middlesex, are scheduled to open this year. They will join the existing portfolio of 24 Days Inn-franchised hotels in the United Kingdom.
