"We are currently in lease negotiations with Chelsea Market for space to house Food Network," a spokesperson at Food Network confirms for GlobeSt.com.

Newmark handles the leasing for the 1.1-million sf building, which was constructed in 1934. But beyond confirming that talks are underway, executives there remained mum. But insiders reveal that the talks are close to the handshake stage, and that the newtork will occupy ground-floor studio space when the talking is done.

According to sources, ground-floor studio space in Chelsea Market, at 75 Ninth Ave., could go for $75 a foot, while other space in the building is $30 per sf., whether it be sublease or direct. Food Network currently has studios at 604 W.52nd St.
