Alabama Firm Leases 10,000-SF of Industrial

HAINES CITY, FL-This Central Florida city, with a permanent resident population of 13,000 and a surrounding 10-mile radius population of 200,000, has beaten Tampa and Orlando in attracting a high-tech Huntsville, AL company to its area, largely because it had a 10,000-sf plant ready and waiting.

The Haines City Economic Development Council confirms it found the structure at 2801 US 17-92 after Technology Research Consultants Inc. officials spread the word it was looking for a location along the high-tech corridor between Tampa and Orlando for a site to build $2 million worth of gyroscopes for the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command. The gyroscopes are for the navigation systems used in the UH-60 Blackhawk military helicopters.
