B&J Fabrics Loses Space to NY Times, Finds New Home

NEW YORK CITY-B&J Fabrics Inc. has found new space in Midtown after being forced out of the building it occupied for more than 45 years. The textile distributor will now set up shop in 15,568-sf at 525 Seventh Ave.

NEW YORK CITY-After 45 years at 263 West 40th St., B&J Fabrics Inc. is packing up its textiles for new digs down the road. The distributor of high-end fabrics was forced to relocate after its building was condemned to make way for the New York Times’ new headquarters.

B&J is now preparing to move into 15,568-sf of office and showroom space at 525 Seventh Ave. this September. The 15-year lease is set in the Fashion Center Building, between 38th and 39th streets, which is home to other high-end designers such as Nicole Miller, Badgley Mishka and Jason Tynan & Co.
