The firm, Power Printing Inc., has signed a 10-year lease for industrial space in the San Diego property, which stands at 2393 Newton Ave. The transaction is valued at slightly more than $1 million.
Power Printing was represented by Chuck Ekstrom of IPC Commercial and Andy Mopper of Francis Financial. Tim Mills of Burnham Real Estate Services ONCOR International acted on behalf of the lessor, JAL Lease LLC.
The San Diego County industrial market has taken a turn for the worse in recent months, reporting 244,294 sf of overall negative net activity for the first quarter of 2003. The figure, which reflects absorption for traditional industrial/warehouse/manufacturing product, was reported by Burnham Real Estate Services. Overall, owners/users and build-to-suits for leases accounted for 327,000 sf of positive net industrial absorption, while speculative industrial product experienced 571,290 sf of negative net absorption. Despite the negative net absorption, however, the industrial market did record a healthy vacancy rate of 8.3% for the first quarter.
