The plans include the introduction of a new full range new department store, and the developer says it is close to signing an operator. The development is designed to provide larger, open floorplates, which meet the requirements of modern retailers and Stannifer claims to be in discussion with a significant number of retailers new to Harlow town centre.
Stannifer Chief Executive Ron Barrott said: "Our plans for the redevelopment and refurbishment of the Harvey Centre have met an enthusiastic response from Harlow District Council and retailers alike, all of who recognise the potential of Harlow's town centre to develop as a regional shopping hub."
The letting agent for the Harvey Centre is King Sturge.
