Stannifer Unveils Plans for 800,000-sf Harlow Mall

LONDON-Stannifer, on behalf of the international Sapphire consortium, has lodged a planning application with Harlow District Council to refurbish the town's Harvey Centre and extend it to 800,000 sf.

LONDON-Stannifer has submitted a planning application on behalf of the Sapphire consortium–which includes Bank of Scotland Corporate Banking and South African investment company Corovest–to transform the 550,000-sf Harvey Centre. The shopping centre already accounts for nearly three-quarters of Harlow’s central retail floorspace, and under the plans it will be refurbished and extended by a further 250,000 sf.

The plans include the introduction of a new full range new department store, and the developer says it is close to signing an operator. The development is designed to provide larger, open floorplates, which meet the requirements of modern retailers and Stannifer claims to be in discussion with a significant number of retailers new to Harlow town centre.
