NYC Gets Two New Retail Leases Totaling 17,200 SF

NEW YORK CITY-In separate transactions, Synergy Fitness inks a long-term lease for a new 9,200-sf gym on West 14th St. and North Face opens its first Manhattan store in 8,000 sf on the Upper West Side.

NEW YORK CITY-Two fitness retailers have recently set their sights on Manhattan. Synergy Fitness has inked a 15.5-year deal for a new gym at 138 West 14th St. and outdoor apparel and equipment retailer North Face debuted its first Manhattan location.

Synergy’s latest gym, its seventh on the island, will be set in 9,200 sf on the lower levels of Pratt Institute’s Manhattan Campus. The exercise center will occupy 1,200 sf on the ground floor and 8,000 sf on the lower level.

The transaction is valued at $3.1 million, according to Insignia/ESG Retail Group brokers Eric Gelber and Joshua Gettler, who arranged the deal for Pratt and Synergy. The gym is slated to open at the end of this summer.
