Riverwood Plans $40M Plant Expansion

ATLANTA-Gov. Sonny Perdue cut the ceremonial ground-breaking ribbon at Riverwood International Corp.’s planned $40 million, 450,000-sf plant expansion in Houston County’s Perry, GA. The project is expected to add 100 new jobs to the local community, according to the Houston County Development Authority.

Riverwood CEO Stephen M. Humphrey says the actual ground-breaking is tentatively scheduled for June, with completion targeted in 2005. Atlanta-based Riverwood is building a 300,000-sf warehouse and product distribution center to complement the conversion of an additional 150,000 sf.
