Recently reappointed by San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy, the two members will serve out new three-year terms. As CCDC board members, their responsibilities include involvement with negotiations and recommendations to the Redevelopment Agency of San Diego with regard to property and project areas, redevelopment plans, implementation strategies and promotion of redevelopment projects.

An active entrepreneur, Johnson is not only the co-founder and president of business consulting firm Procurement Concepts Inc., but also owns and operates Gifts, Etc., a chain of retail stores found in airports located in San Diego County. Johnson also serves as a board member of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp. and is part of a small business employer advisory board to the California Economic Development Department. He formerly served on the board of the San Diego Urban League.

LeSar, who is the investment manager and senior vice president at Bank of America in San Diego, also has been quite involved in the community. She is the former chair of the board for the LGBT Community Center and a member of the San Diego Democratic Club. In addition, she served as vice president and acting president of the board for the Federation for Housing and Community Development and is a former member of the San Diego County HIV Housing Committee.
