The larger of the two proposed projects is slated to rise on a 30,000-sf parcel located on the south side of Market Street, between 6th and 7th avenues. Upon completion, it will house a 17-story residential tower with 155 units, as well as a two-story retail and commercial base and two levels of underground parking. According to a CCDC statement, "the design and materials used in the base and surrounding sidewalk will integrate the development into the adjacent Gaslamp Quarter." Designed by architects Austin Veum Robbins and Parshalle, the complex is being developed by ANKA LLC. It is known as the 6th and Market Condominium Project.

J Street Development was also granted design review approval at Wednesday's meeting for its proposed complex, known as the 11th & J Street Condominium project. This project, which was designed by architect Salerno Livingston, will house 185 residential units and 219 parking spaces. Planned as an eight-story, u-shaped building, the facility will feature painted stucco walls, large recessed windows and balconies, patio terraces and planters "for a design that complements the surrounding developments within the Sports/Entertainment District," according to a CCDC statement. The building is slated to rise on the north side of J Street between 11th Avenue and Park Boulevard.
