L.A. Fitness Opens 65,000-SF NY Flagship

LAKE SUCCESS, NY-The health club, located here at the iPark corporate center, opens in early 2004 with plans to stick around for the next 15 years. Asking rents for the space were in the mid-$20 range, according to sources.

LAKE SUCCESS, NY-L.A. Fitness is making a home on Long Island, inking a 15-year lease to open the health club chain’s New York flagship here. The 65,000-sf space is located at the iPark corporate office and technology center. Asking rents for the space were in the mid-$20s, an industry source tells GlobeSt.com.

The new gym, opening in early 2004, will anchor the complex’s South Building, set on the corner of Union and Lakeville roads. The 1.4-million-sf business center consists of four buildings.

C&W’s David Leviton represented iPark in the deal, and Brian Schuster of Ripco Realty acted on behalf of the L.A. Fitness. According to Leviton, the transaction ends a more than two-year search for a health club tenant at iPark.
