A survey by property company Hometrack showed that UK house prices declined by 0.1% in May from the previous month after a similar decline in April. This follows a fall of 0.1% in April and no growth in March. Last year in May, prices rose by 2.6%.
The company said the latest figures showed that the housing boom was at an end--but added that house prices would, on average, still grow by around 4% this year.
