Phase one includes two 42-story towers and one 34-story tower totaling 287 units. A fourth tower, currently awaiting government approval, is planned for 25 stories with 44 condo units and three stories of restaurant and retail space. This will be phase two.

Developers told GlobeSt.com earlier this year that the development had a scheduled completion date of late spring 2004. The project currently is built through the 34th floor and will start delivering units in May or June 2004.

In other news, former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino has signed a three-year contract to be the development's spokesman and help market the project through print advertising and special event appearances. Marino and his family recently purchased a home at Las Olas River House for an undisclosed seven-figure price. Marino and his wife, Claire, want to use the condo as a weekend retreat.

Construction began on the first three towers of Las Olas River House in November 2001. The total cost of the development will be slightly more than $200 million. Units cost between the $600,000s and more than $3 million.

The development will be bordered by Las Olas Boulevard to the north, New River to the south, Southeast First Ave. to the west and Southeast Second Ave. to the east.
