Shidler entity STIRR Chesapeake LLC has acquired the assets, known as Chesapeake I and Chesapeake II, from BCL Inc. The facilities, which both date back to 1985, encompass a total of 88,282 sf. Chesapeake I stands on a 1.88-acre lot located at 9619 Chesapeake Dr., while Chesapeake II is situated on a 2.08-acre lot located at 9444 Farnham St. The properties are currently 100% leased to tenants including California Bank & Trust, Scripps Healthcare, HDR Engineering and Telmex/Sprint.

Adam Edwards of Secured Capital Corp. acted on behalf of both BCL Inc. and the Shidler entity."We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to buy Chesapeake I and II, which are 100% occupied by high-quality tenants," says Matt Root, a partner with The Shidler Group. He points out that Kearny Mesa is one of San Diego's prime markets for commercial real estate, due to its central location, easy accessibility to the freeway system and high concentration of national and local businesses.

The Shidler Group and its affiliates have facilitated the acquisition of more than 130 million sf of commercial property since the company was founded in 1972. The firm currently owns and operates more than 6 million sf of commercial property located throughout Texas, Arizona, Hawaii and Southern California.
