Nonprofit Seeks Space for Demonstration High Performance Workplace

PORTLAND-The BetterBricks commercial buildings initiative of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and the Portland Office of Sustainable Development are gearing up to develop a demonstration High Performance Workplace somewhere in the Central Business District. The underlying premise of the effort is that improvements to workplace design, technology and materials will positively affect worker performance and the environment.To demonstrate this, NWEEA is on the hunt for south-facing 5,000-sf locations that meet the agency’s various project requirements, which include: generous floor- to- floor heights; dedicated air handler and chilled and hot water valves on same floor; power/voice/data spaces on floor; flexibility for “green” improvements during tenant improvement; and proximity to public transportation.

NWEEA is considering entering into an initial lease term of two-and-a-half years with the ability to commit to an extended lease term based upon continued funding for our programs. The agency says it is willing to sublease space and anticipates paying market rates in the range of $12-20 per sf.
