Dominion Energy Expands with New 60,000-SF Facility

RICHMOND, VA-After more than a year of construction activity, public utility provider Dominion Resources Inc. has expanded its production capabilities with the opening of the 60,000-sf Dominion Energy Clearinghouse at its nearly 55-acre corporate headquarters site on Tredegar St. Dominion spent $28.5 million to realize the development, which will be home to the company’s natural gas and electric power marketing operations. The new building is the seventh Dominion structure on the property.

“We make an important statement about our confidence in the city’s future with the completion of this project,” said Dominion chairman and CEO Thos. E. Capps. “Economically, we are pleased to help Richmond regain its rightful place among the East Coast’s major metropolitan regions. This is good for Dominion, for the city, for the riverfront and for the state.” About 350 employees will work out of the new facility. As with many other economic expansion projects, both city and state officials participated in helping to realize the new development.
