The residential urban development will feature 400 units and a variety of residences that will include lofts, one-and two-bedroom-plus-den units and penthouse units. Metropolis units will range in size from 657 sf to 1,467 sf. Pre-construction prices start in the $180,000s.

Construction has begun on the first tower. Once the first tower is completed, work will start on the second tower, according to a spokeswoman for the project. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in December 2004.

The development will be located on about two acres at 9101 S. Dadeland Blvd., near Dadeland Mall. The project's contemporary exterior was designed by architects Nichols Brosch Sandoval.

Amenities will include a fitness center, a pool, a spa and a private meditation garden to be situated on the eighth floor. The first tower is being sold first, then the second tower will be sold.

"With the tremendous sales success of Metropolis I, the developers moved forward with the launching of Metropolis II ahead of schedule," Javier Cervera, the project's sales director, says in a statement.

The sales center has been moved onto the edge of the property from across the street. The project's exclusive sales agent is Cervera Real Estate.
