Entertainment Properties Acquires Florida, Kansas Movie Theaters

KANSAS CITY, MO-The Kansas City-based entertainment properties REIT forks over $29.5 million for two movie theaters, a 24-screen property in Tampa, FL and a 12-screen property in Lawrence, KS.

KANSAS CITY, MO-Entertainment Properties Trust has acquired two movie theaters holding 36 screens for about $29.5 million. The acquisition includes the AMC Veterans 24 in Tampa, FL, and the Wallace Southwind 12 located in Lawrence, KS.

The three-year-old Veterans 24 theater is one of the best performing theatres in the Tampa market, according to AMC. The tenant is American Multi-Cinema Inc. (AMC), a subsidiary of AMC Entertainment Inc. AMC will operate the theater under a long-term lease. The six-year-old Southwind 12 is one of the best performing theatres in all of Kansas, according to AMC. Wallace Theatre Corporation is the tenant and will operate the theater under a long-term lease.
