Banana ripeners and distributors J N Fox & Sons bought the 11,507-sf Unit A, totalling while Sovena Fortune Inc has bought the 11,500-sf Unit D to house Stardex, its UK import/export operation. Both deals were close to the asking price of £130 ($215) per sf.
J N Fox will fit out the new building at Orbital 46 with specialist banana ripening equipment. The company is currently based on the Western International Market site at Heathrow, which is to be redeveloped shortly. Fox considered opportunities as far afield as Stokenchurch and Thame, before deciding to acquire a freehold at Orbital 46.
Charlie Withers, Chancerygate's Leasing & Marketing Director said: "These sales reflect the current strength of the market for freeholds West of London; with just over 50% of the scheme away we expect the last two units will soon be committed."
Rogers Chapman represented J N Fox; Jansons and Partners and Rogers Chapman advised Chancerygate and Friarsgate.
