Houston-headquartered Omega Protein, which is the largest manufacturer of menhaden-based fish oils in the US, will use the new space to process its heart-healthy OmegaPure product containing Omega-3 essential fatty acids. The plant will offer a separate mechanical building, 20,000 sf of freezer and warehouse space, 7,000 sf of office and lab space and a packaging area. "Omega Protein's new facility will be environmentally friendly, energy efficient, and pleasing to the community," says Suitt Construction vice president Frank Holley. "The facility will be state-of-the-art."
