ATLANTIC CITY, NJ-It's been almost three years in the making, but the much-heralded Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa is about to make its debut. Boyd Gaming Corp. officials announced yesterday that July 3rd is the day when the $1.1-billion property will officially open its doors. The Las Vegas-based Boyd is the managing partner of the project in a joint venture with 50% owner MGM Mirage.

“We are very excited about our opening and look forward to sharing the Borgata experience,” says chairman/CEO William S. Boyd, in a statement. “Interest in Borgata is reaching new heights. In fact, our Borgata Rewards database is currently enrolling more than 2,500 qualified customers a day.”

By the numbers, Borgata is enormous. The 40-story property encompasses just over 2,000 guest rooms and suites, 125,000 sf of gaming, 11 restaurants, a like number of retail stores, a 50,000-sf spa, 70,000 sf of event space and parking for more than 7,000 cars.
