From 1998 until his retirement in June 2002, Roberts was a global managing partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. From 1967 until the merger of Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse in 1998, he held various high-level posts with Coopers & Lybrand, including responsibilities as lead partner on several of the firm's major accounts.

He is trustee of Drexel University and serves on the boards of directors and audit committees of three public corporations: Wayne, PA-based Safeguard Scientifics; Lancaster, PA-based Armstrong Holdings, and Irvine, CA-based Sicor Inc.

In announcing Roberts' appointment, Ronald Rubin, PREIT's chairman and CEO, said, "his appointment to our audit committee will serve to enhance the committee's experience and knowledge in matters relating to financial accounting."
