Defense Contractor Forsakes Baltimore Area for Carroll County

WESTMINSTER, MD-Defense and aerospace components manufacturer Carleton Technologies Inc. has decided to relocate its Baltimore-area offices to 711 Corporate Center Court in Carroll County. The Orchard Park, NY-based contactor will occupy 30,000 sf in the 45,500-sf building. While terms of the leasing agreement with property owner Corporate Center Leasing LLC have not been disclosed, space at the six-year-old flex property leases for $5.50 to $6.75 per-sf. In addition to a change of venue, the move also provides an opportunity for the company to nearly triple its space. Its current locale on McCormick Dr. in Glen Burnie is just 11,000 sf.

“After conducting an extensive search for new space, we found an extremely attractive labor market and manufacturing environment existing in Westminster,” says Carleton general manager Michael Higgins. The building is now leased to 84% capacity. Coldwell Banker Commercial/NRT represented Carleton in the deal, and NAI KLNB Inc. stood in for the property owner.
