"The Benenson family has a multitude of holdings and needed to centralize," explains Richard A. Kessler, COO of Benenson Capital Partners. "This is an internal business unit that is part of a long succession transition plan." Kessler said that the company will maintain its same primary focus--single-tenant triple-net leased properties occupied by major corporate tenants. BCP also looks at new acquisitions, development and redevelopment opportunities.
"Benenson Capital Partners, LLC is the new entity and the source of intellectual capital for the future," adds executive vice president Lawrence B. Benenson. Today there's a new generation of leadership continuing the family tradition--including Lawrence, Bruce W. Benenson, and Frederick C. Benenson, the founder's grandchildren.
"Both my grandfather and father have successfully believed in the same culture and core values since the early 1900's and we plan to continue with these fundamentals," states Lawrence Benenson.
Kessler tells GlobeSt.com that another step the company took was establishing a web site, benensoncapital.com., to act a as real-time business brochure and marketing tool.
The Benenson group of companies dates back to its founding in 1905 and currently manages more than 200 properties, including retail, office, industrial, multifamily, hospitality and land throughout the US, Canada and Europe. Benenson Capital Partners is the management arm of the Benenson group of companies, which includes The Benenson Capital Company. BCP manages the family's interest in a portfolio of financial assets and a real estate portfolio that features properties nationwide including 400 Park Ave., The Metropolis, Le Rivage, 1560 Broadway and the Beekman Hotel, all in Manhattan; the Cross County Shopping Center in Westchester; 1600 Summer Street in Stamford, CT and Koin Center in Portland.
