Two New Office Leases at Brewery Block 4

PORTLAND-The Art Institute of Portland expands its space for the third time, while new tenant PPM Energy Inc. is expected to occupy in August in the 270,000-sf mixed-use development built on the site of the former Blitz-Weinhard fermentation and packaging plant.

PORTLAND-The Art Institute of Portland has signed a 13-year lease for 12,206-sf of office space at Brewery Block 4, bringing the school’s total space to 84,000-sf. PPM Energy Inc., the locally-based competitive U.S. subsidiary of ScottishPower, has signed a 10-year lease for 36,368-sf of office space.

Located at 1125 NW Couch, construction on Block 4′s shell was completed May 2003. The asking price for leasing office space is between $26.75 and $30.50-psf. The Art Institute (AiPD) first pre-leased 57,000-sf of office space back in 2000, and then added another 15,000-sf before occupying and then adding this latest space.

AiPD offers degrees in Multimedia & Web Design, Apparel Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, and Media Arts & Animation. Featured in the new location will be an art gallery, a video production studio, drafting classrooms, apparel design labs, and approximately 10 computer labs, as well as considerable classroom and office space.
