Brink's Secure Enough to Break Ground in Lawndale

CHICAGO-Brink's relocating to California Avenue Business Center will help the city retain 275 jobs and stimulate badly needed economic growth in a neighborhood that's had its share of problems attracting employers.

CHICAGO The City of Chicago and Brink’s Inc. will break ground this morning on a new, 75,000 sf facility at California Avenue Business Center, 919 S. California Ave., in the Lawndale neighborhood on the west side.

The new building will replace Brink’s’ existing facility at 24th Street and Indiana Avenue. Plans call for the project to be fully operational by January 2004.

Brink’s will serve as an anchor tenant for California Avenue Business Center. The facility will be equipped with state-of-the art security and processing systems, and will employ about 275 people. The facility is also designed for expansion.
