Opus East Plans 1.4M SF of Warehouse Space on 95 Acres

BETHLEHEM, PA-The Mid-Atlantic office of Minnesota-based Opus Group acquired two contiguous parcels totaling 43 acres here for construction of three 235,000-sf buildings and 52 acres in Mercer County, NJ, for one 700,000-sf warehouse. Land and development costs exceed $55 million.

BETHLEHEM, PA-Opus East, the Plymouth Meeting, PA-based Mid-Atlantic regional office of Minnesota-based Opus Group, has acquired 95 acres of industrial land here and in New Jersey for construction of four warehouse facilities with an aggregate of 1.4 million sf. The combined land acquisition and project development costs are estimated to exceed $55 million, according to C. Craig Guers, VP of Opus East.

Two contiguous parcels fronting Broadhead Road here, just two miles from the Rte. 22/512 interchange, total 43 acres. Opus bought the land from locally based Lehigh Valley Industrial Holdings and Jozef Atlas.

Plans call for three warehouse/distribution facilities, each averaging about 235,000 sf. The buildings will have 33-foot ceilings, early suppression sprinkler systems, wide column spacing, extensive truck-loading capabilities and office space, allowing them to accommodate the needs of a variety of types of tenants.
