Stannifer Launches High Wycombe Plan

LONDON-High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, is to get a 650,000-sf makeover under plans submitted by developer Stannifer to the local authority. It could open by Spring 2007

LONDON- Stratford-upon-Avon-based property and development group Stannifer has announced plans for Project Phoenix, a 650 ,000-sf town centre scheme for High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Stannifer, which part-owns the Octagon Centre in the town, is seeking approval for a mixed-use scheme, including a covered shopping street connected to its existing centre, a selection of restaurants, cafes and bars, a new leisure complex, public library, bus interchange and residential units fronting on to a new open civic square.

Ron Barrott, chief executive of Stannifer, commented: ‘Stannifer has spent 18 months preparing these plans and engaging in public consultation. During this period it has become very clear that a high quality scheme that can be delivered as soon as possible is required. And that is exactly what we will provide. We are already in detailed discussions with key retailers and leisure operators and have virtually finalised the department store deal.
