PHILADELPHIA-Having failed to find a buyer for its 200-bed Parkview hospital in the Juniata Park section of North Philadelphia, Santa Barbara, CA-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. will stop accepting patients there and close the emergency room on August 11 and shutter the facility on September 8. Meanwhile, the owner continues to pursue the sale of its 243-bed Elkins Park hospital in Montgomery County.

Tenet acquired both acute care facilities from the bankrupt Allegheny Health System in 1998 as part of an eight-property portfolio for an aggregate $345 million. Parkview is the second in the portfolio to be shuttered. In 2000, Tenet closed City Avenue Hospital here.
