Known as Kelly Ranch, the project will consist of a garden-style, three-story apartment community with motor court design at build-out. The complex is slated to house a total of 451 units, as well as a clubhouse, fitness center and two pools. In addition, selected units will feature fireplaces and washers and dryers. Scheduled for completion in October 2004, the complex is rising at Faraday Avenue and Canyon Road, just miles north of Legoland and northeast of Agua Hedionda Lagoon.
San Diego-based Wermers Corp. is building the Kelly Ranch project, which was designed by Architects of Orange County, La Jolla-based Gillespie Design and Project Design Consultants of San Diego. Major subcontractors involved with the development are Santee-based Jon Del Construction, Concrete Construction Corp. of La Mabra, Wilmington-based AmPam Parks Mechanical, RH General of Spring Valley, Coronado-based AmPam Ldi Mechanical and Seal Electric of Santee.
Kelly Ranch is the latest in a string of major apartment properties to begin rising in San Diego County, as multifamily developers continue to bank on the region's steady population growth and shortage of housing.
