As director of contract finance and general counsel, MacConnell will work in the company's local office, its loan production headquarters. The division will serve as the closing group for all the firm's real estate products. It will oversee the closing process for construction, conduit, bridge, credit tenant, mezzanine, portfolio, agency and any other commercial real estate loans.

MacConnell worked for Renaissance Partners for the last nine years. As general manager there, he oversaw real estate development and finance activities. Other positions he has held include counsel to the Senate Finance Committee and assistant attorney general, both in Virginia. He has a master's of law degree in taxation.
