DALLAS-Three Dallas-Fort Worth veterans have banded together to form a new brokerage house, pinning the name to an annual fly fishing trip at Glacier National Park in Montana.
“This last trip we sat down and thought…why not,” Andrew Beckman tells GlobeSt.com. He and Steve Shrum have left Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners after 16 months to team with a longtime friend, Morris Orr, to form Glacier Commercial Realty LP. The firm today opened its doors in a 3,000-sf office on the first floor of the 8585 Stemmons Freeway south tower, capping plans that formed on their ninth annual fishing expedition.
Beckman and Shrum joined Stream as Kennedy-Wilson International was scaling back in Dallas-Fort Worth. They and Orr, who for the last year had his own company, hail from the ranks of the Fults Co., Kennedy-Wilson’s inroad to Dallas. Beckman says they’ve been discussing the plan for years. “Stream was a good fit,” he says. “The timing wasn’t right 16 months ago, but it felt right now.”
