FedEx Takes 65,517 SF

PLACENTIA, CA-The shipping firm signs for five years in a building on Melrose Avenue.

PLACENTIA, CA- FedEx Ground Package System Inc. has signed a five-year, $2.24 million lease for 65,517 sf of industrial space here, according to CB Richard Ellis. Ian Britton and Brad Bierbaum of the Anaheim office of CB Richard Ellis say the international shipping firm has taken the space at 540 to 544 Melrose Ave., in a facility owned by CTG Properties LLC. Britton and Bierbaum represented the landlord, with FedEx represented by Fischer & Company Inc.

The Placentia operation is one of a number of facilities that FedEx operates in Orange County, where it signed another lease earlier in the year for a 73,000-sf industrial building in Irvine that is one of the shipping firm’s busiest Orange County package drop-off locations. At the 73,000-sf building, which is at 18651 Von Karman Ave., the shipping company signed a $3.7 million, five-year renewal at a building where it had already been operating for 10 years.
