According to a KMA spokesperson, the retail neighborhood center is slated to encompass 15,000 sf to be divided between two, single-level buildings. The facilities are being designed in the Mission style, complete with plaster wall finishes, terra cotta tiled roofs and metal grillwork. Other architectural details will include clerestory towers and wood trellises.

Aside from KMA, other firms involved with the project include structural engineer Nowak + Wiseman , civil engineer Lang Engineering and landscape architectural firm Teshima Design Group. Construction on the $1.5-million project is expected to begin later this summer.

Scheduled to rise at 11385 Poway Rd., Sabre Springs Plaza will be one of the first commercial projects to be developed in this primarily residential area. "The plaza will provide a variety of convenient retail, dining and other commercial services to the residents of Sabre Springs," says John Hilgeman, KMA's project architect.
