National Practice Leaders Richard Marchitelli and Timothy Barnes will lead the new group. Over the past two decades, both have prepared a variety of report types, qualified before the local and federal courts and provided litigation counsel to private and public clients, according to C&W.
The new service will provide the expertise required to solve problems and cases regarding commercial real estate. Its members will wear several hats, including acting as litigation consultants and expert witnesses in property-related disputes on behalf of owners, tenants, lenders, developers, institutions, law firms and corporations. They will lend support on an array of topics, from business and partnership disputes to damage assessments, and from tax appeals to zoning and land-use controversies.
"Our clients increasingly require these services," John D. Busi, executive managing director of VAS, says in a statement. "We have put together the most highly qualified team in the industry to meet this demand."
This is the second new division C&W has added to its organization this summer. As previously reported by GlobeSt.com, last month the firm announced the formation of its Hospitality & Gaming Group in response to a growing list of clients with interests in the gaming area. The division replaced the former Hospitality Industry Group and is also part of the C&W Advisory Group.
