Michael Wolk Design Associates will be responsible for designing the tower's public spaces, including the lobby, reception area and building amenities.
"At Platinum, neo-modern style marries the exuberance of dynamic American design with the beauty and grace of European refinement," says Michael Wolk, chairman and creative director of the 32-year-old firm.
The project's interior and amenities are influenced by a tropical climate. The designer will create a cool effect by using glass, smooth surface stones and metals. "I will be incorporating textiles that appeal to the sense and evoke a light, airy and comfortable feeling," Wolk says. "The language of the color, texture and surfaces is similar to what Fullerton-Diaz is doing on the exterior. I am continuing the story, creating a seamless flow from the outside to the inside."
Construction on the tower is scheduled to start this fall and completion is set for spring 2005.
