Lord & Taylor Plans Oakland Mall Store

TROY, MI-Lord & Taylor is awaiting final city approvals to build a new 140,000-sf store at Oakland Mall. The recent work by the company in Metropolitan Detroit is part of a larger effort to upgrade and modernize the chain's 86 stores and to move into new target areas.

TROY, MI-Lord & Taylor is awaiting final approvals from the city to build a 140,000-sf store at the Oakland Mall in the city.

If approvals are granted, construction on the anchor store for the mall likely would begin in January, says a mall spokeswoman.

Lord & Taylor would join Sears, Marshall Fields and JC Penney as anchor stores on the mall, which is visible from Interstate 75 and fronts 14 Mile Road.
