The Portland-based company, which owns and operates a public warehouse on 10 acres next to Terminal 6, is acquiring the land from the Port for $4.75 per sf, and has a 60-day option at the same price to acquire another four acres of adjacent land for use as a truck staging area for the new facility. As additional consideration, the company is granting the Port an option to purchase its existing 10-acre site in the future.

Oregon Transfer distributes products to firms throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, British Columbia and Northern California. The company's existing location, which includes an 188,000-sf, rail-served warehouse, is identified in the Port's recently adopted Marine Terminals Master Plan 2020 as a possible future expansion area for Terminal 6.

"In addition to being a major Port of Portland tenant in Rivergate and on Swan Island, Oregon Transfer also operates distribution and third-party logistics facilities elsewhere in Portland and in Chicago," says Bill Bach, the Port's corporate real estate manager. "Transportation and logistics providers like Oregon Transfer provide vital facilities and services needed by regional shippers, and they help attract transportation service providers like railroads, trucking companies, steamship lines and air carriers to invest here."
