Old Marine Bank Building Gets a $3M Beauty Treatment

BALTIMORE-Once known as the Marine Bank Building, the four-story office structure at 33 S. Gay St. has emerged from a $3 million makeover at the hands of commercial real estate services company Manekin LLC. The interior and exterior restoration endeavor was a necessary one, as the 44,000-sf structure has been in existence since 1918, and has stood empty for the last five years.

In addition to some cosmetic touch-ups and bodywork, the building also got a new parking area made from a space that had formerly served as an alley. The structure is home to a wide variety of occupants, including the architect for the project upgrade Kann & Associates Inc., Charm City Digital Imaging Inc., Chesapeake Community Advisors, and Landmark Parking. About 2,500 sf of space remains available for leasing. “The building offers great window exposure, harbor views, terrific access to I-83 and I-95 and ample parking,” Kann & Associates principal Geoffrey Glazer says.
