This will be the 30th Staples store in Michigan, and its sixth in Auburn Hills area, employing about 30 people. Massachusetts-based Staples has about 1,500 stores in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, with a typical size of about 20,000 sf.

The new store is among the growing number of Staples' "Dover" format stores. The company says the redesign has increased the "shopability" of the stores by providing better signage, more logical product adjacencies, and improved sight lines.
