The development, known as Diamond Terrace, is rising on a parcel located at 427 Ninth Ave., directly across from the entrance to the Petco Park baseball stadium. "We are extremely excited to be located so close to Petco Park," says Keith Fernandez, president of 9th & J LLC, the development management company of the Diamond Terrace project. "The new ballpark will bring an enormous amount of positive energy to Downtown San Diego's East Village community," he adds.

Upon completion, the 14-story Diamond Terrace property will contain 113 residential units and 10,000 sf of street-level retail space. The units, which will range in size from 430 sf to 1,088 sf, will vary in design from studio to one-bedroom to two-bedroom floor plans. Build-out is currently scheduled for late summer and early autumn of 2005, a project spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com. The first three phases of the project have been released already, with all 59 units currently reserved. Another 18 units in phase four have also been released recently.

Diamond Terrace's developer is D.T. San Diego Development LLC, which is a privately held, San Diego-based firm. The project's development team consists of 9th & J LLC, as well as general contractor PCL Construction Services Inc., architect Perkins & Co., structural engineer Glottman Simpson Group and civil engineer Project Design Consultants.
