Renovations will include the demolition of the former Montgomery Wards and Jeepers stores to make room for a new 125,400-sf Target, which will join the mall's other anchors, Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Toys R Us. Petrie is also redesigning the property to include space for two new restaurants, Bennigans and Chick-Fil-A.

"Target is another wonderful addition to the Glen Burnie Mall," says Anne Arundel county executive Janet Owens. "I know that residents of North County will welcome these new and exciting retail and entertainment choices to their community. Petrie Ventures has made a major investment in the revitalization of the area." Target will open in 2004, while the restaurants will debut sometime this winter. Petrie is also in the process of a $12 million redevelopment of the Forest Village Park Mall in Prince George's County.
