HOUSTON-Whitney National Bank and Texas Capital Bank have inked deals, totaling 34,660 sf, for retail and office space in separate Galleria office buildings.

In October, Whitney National Bank starts a phased-in move to 23,970 sf at 4265 San Felipe Rd. with a long-term signing that includes naming rights to replace Chase Bank, Steve Rocher with the Houston office of Grubb & Ellis tells GlobeSt.com. Chase Bank recently exited the 207,378-sf building.

The New Orleans-based Whitney National Bank, signing for retail and office space, was represented by Rob Neblett with Houston-headquartered Transwestern Commercial Services. Michael Pou, Whitney bank’s director of corporate real estate, says the first space to be filled will be 4,500 sf set aside for a lobby branch. The next move will shift Houston executives from Continental Tower in the CBD. The San Felipe building, now 94% leased, was picked for a strategic location and “compatible landlord,” Pou says.
