This will be the seventh Marathon Grill here, all owned and operated by the Borish family. The new location in the heart of the Penn campus will serve student communities at both Penn and adjacent Drexel University.

The other six restaurants are in Center City, and four of them are in Downtown office buildings. The six locations are: 1339 Chestnut St., 16thand Sansom Street, 19th and Spruce, 1617 JFK Blvd., 1818 Market St. and Two Commerce Square. The company also has a thriving corporate catering and special events business.

Jeffrey Fischer, a senior associate at locally based Arden Real Estate Services, represented Marathon in the negotiations. U of Penn wasrepresented by Washington, DC-based Madison Marquette.
