Starwood to Manage New Sheraton in Thailand

PATTAYA, THAILAND-Amburaya Resorts Co. Ltd. selects Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. to manage a 156-room resort scheduled to open in October 2004 in Pattaya, 90 minutes southeast of Bangkok International Airport.

PATTAYA, THAILAND-Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has landed the management assignment for another Thailand hotel. Amburaya Resorts Co. Ltd. has selected Starwood to manage Sheraton Pattaya Resort, a 156-room hotel property that is under construction and scheduled to open in October 2004.

In the past 12 months, Starwood has added three others hotels to its Thailand portfolio: Rayavadee, a Luxury Collection resort in Krabi; The Westin Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok and; the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. Starwood now manages eight hotels in Thailand.

Pattaya, located 90 minutes southeast of Bangkok, is considered one of the country’s most attractive beach areas and its top windsurfing spot, attracting families, leisure and corporate groups. The resort is being developed between Pattaya and Jomtien Beach, approximately 1.2 miles from central Pattaya.
