Danisco, a Denmark-based food flavorings manufacturer, sold BPG the 105,000-sf industrial building it obtained in conjunction with its merger with Australia's Goodman Fielder food manufacturer, for $7.2 million. Subsequently, BPG leased the entire previously vacant building to locally based Animus, which manufactures high-tech medical devices.
Four principals of the Philadelphia office of Cushman & Wakefield--J. Frances Mahoney, Peter Greenhalgh, Christopher Kutzler and Brian Hilger--represented Danisco in the sale. BPG handled the acquisition in house.
Terms of the Animus lease are undisclosed. Brokers tell GlobeSt.com that rental rates for industrial space vary widely throughout Chester County, but speculate this lease is probably about $6 per sf.
In an unrelated transaction, an Infiniti auto dealership paid $6 million for a 32,306-sf building on a 3.1-acre site formerly occupied by a Mercedes-Benz dealership. It is at the corner of Autopark Boulevard and Westtown Road, within a quater mile of the Westtown interchange of Route 202.
Marshall J. Soss, president, and Justin M. Soss, VP of Media, PA-based KarMar Realty Group were the listing and selling brokers.
